  2. Goals: By the end of this presentation, we will be able to answer the following questions: • Where did the data say we were? • What did we say we would do? • Did we do what we said? • What’s the evidence of implementation and effectiveness? • How will we focus our efforts in 2008-2009?

  3. Norms: • Place cell phones on silent mode • Participate actively • Respect the opinions of others

  4. The School Improvement Plan should: • guide our work • be referred to and reviewed often • focus on our priorities • be updated regularly • be monitored continuously

Include: • AYP status • Past PSSA performance ( 3 yr. trend) • Achievement gaps for 2007 • Growth indicators (PVAAS) • Highlights of the Strengths and Areas of Concern in Reading, Math, and Science that emerge from a Review of a Variety of Data Sources (e.g. DIBELS, reading levels, benchmarks, grades, etc.)

  11. Implementing/Monitoring Interventions • How are the interventions used to accelerate learning for student groups? • How do we monitor progress? • Are the interventions working? How do we know? • How does our roster support maximum implementation of interventions?

  12. Reflecting on the Data What are the strengths and areas of concern that emerge from a review of the data? Using various data sources are there achievement gaps between student groups in Reading and Math? Identify them.

  13. Next Steps • What strengths will we build on? • What areas of concern still exist? • How will we address these strengths and concerns in the 2008- 2009 School Improvement Plan?
