My Efolio Plan Hannah Rahim 8R
Goals I am aiming to… • Get above sixty on the pacer test. I will do this by trying hard to run faster PE and co-curricular sports. Also, I will run outside of school over the break and on some weekends. • Make a large contribution to the yearbook. This will be possible by challenging myself to take part in many aspects of it like photography, writing and editing. • Take part on service at a global and community level. I can do the community part through yearbook and the global aspect through Free Rice and M-SAC. • To achieve Principal's or Head of School's list in all three terms. I will do this by always trying my hardest in class activities and projects. • To improve my ability in writing poetry and stories. I will achieve this by reading more which will aid me to learn about literary devices. • To get above eighty percent on my theory exam at the beginning of December. I will do this by starting to study earlier, rather than studying right before the exam, like I did for the practice ones. • Improve my flute skills and make a better sound. I can do this by always focusing in class on playing with good air as well as practicing and home. • Get three goldsfor piano in the NSMF in February . I will do this by practicing at least 7 hours a week and gradually increase it to 14 hours in February. I also need to take notice of what my teacher suggests to improve my playing.
How my commitments will meet the 7 MYP Learning Outcomes… Self Awareness: While I am participating in the variety of commitments, I will learn more about my strengths and weaknesses which will assist me to be more self-aware and to able to evaluate my personal growth. Exploration: In terms of action, I am exploring new interests like yoga and badminton. Participating in Dragon’s Den with our Art Show ad Change for Change drive, as well as yearbook club are also new interests. I am extending my existing passions in piano and volleyball. Skill development: I will learn new skills from yoga and badminton like flexibility, hand to eye coordination, and relaxation. Through yearbook club, I am engaging in new learning by doing photography, writing, editing and sometimes reporting.
Commitment: I will exhibit commitment by taking ownership of my responsibilities in the club I am participating in and be determined to create new events. Through the activities that I am organizing such as the Free Rice “Change for Change” drive and the “Create for Humanity” Art show, I will have to exhibit perseverance as it will take a lot of work to plan and organize the events. Empathy: Through service events I will participate in through M-SAC as well as fundraisers like the Change for Change drive and Art Show, I will learn more about the people who are less fortunate than us which will aid me to become more empathetic. Collaboration: I am working with Angela for the art show/competition. We have worked collaboratively so far and are required to continue to in order for the art show to become a success. We will most likely face challenges throughout this process but we will overcome them together. In Yearbook club, I am working with Meg in grade 10 to record the arts going on in the school like Zoom, visual arts, theater arts, and band. As well, the Free Rice group is changing the orientation from just playing games to donate rice, to raising money and awareness about hunger in 3rd world countries. In order for this to work, our group will have to work collaboratively. Global Citizenship: I am engaged with global issues through M-SAC and Free Rice/Hungry for Change. I am engaged with issues at the school through yearbook club, and the art show.
