About LCVP • Combines the academic strengths of the Leaving Certificate Programme with a focus on innovation and enterprise • Skills and qualities are developed to prepare students for further education, work and starting their own business
Programme Requirements • At least 5 Leaving Certificate Subjects, including Irish • 2 Subjects from the Vocational Subject Groupings • Two Link Modules • A recognised course in a modern European Language

The Link Modules • Taken over 2 years • Link Module 1:Preparation for the World of Work: Investigate local employment opportunities, develop job seeking skills, Work Experience • Link Module 2: Enterprise Education: Visit local businesses, develop teamwork, communication and computer skills
ICT • Development of ICT skills • Enter,edit, store and print information • Word Processing and creating documents • Send and receive emails • Access and use relevant material from CD Roms and the Internet
Assessment of Link Modules Same method of assessment as the Established Leaving Certificate • Link Modules: Written Examination 40% and Portfolio of Course work 60% • Portfolio of Course Work: Curriculum Vitae, Career Investigation, Enterprise/Action Plan, Summary Report • Optional Items (Any Two): Diary of Work Experience, Enterprise Report, Recorded interview/ Presentation, Report on my own place
Certification • Receive same certificate as Established Leaving Certificate. • Plus an additional statement of the results of the Link Modules. • Link Modules: Recognised for points purposes by the Universities and Institutes of Technology
