High School Graduation Requirements • 290 Units • English: 4 years (40 units) • Math: 3 years (30 units) • Science: 3 years (30 units) • Social Science : 3 years (30 units) • Physical Education: 2 years (20 units) • Fine Arts: 1 year (10 units) • Other Electives: 130 units * 5 units= 1 semester 10 units= 1 year

  4. High School Graduation Requirements continued…. • California High School Graduation requirements: • Pass Algebra 1 • California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) score of 350 on English Language Arts and Math

  5. A-G Requirements Must pass with “C” or better * Refer to page 1 of handout for a complete list of approved AHS approved courses

  6. “A-G” Requirements A. History – 2 years required World History or AP European History and U.S. History or (AP U.S. History) B. English – 4 years required C. Mathematics – 3 yrs required (Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra 2), 4 years recommended

  7. “A-G” Requirements D. Science 2 years required, 3 years recommended Biology and either Chemistry or Physics E. Foreign Language– 2 years required, 3 years recommended- Must be same language

  8. “A-G” Requirements F. Visual & Performing Arts –1 full year of the same class: Dance, Theatre, Music, and/or Visual Art G. College Preparatory Elective –1 Year: Fulfilled by completing Electives on A-G Approved List (may include extra year of math, science, foreign language, or visual performing art)
