Ambitions for RE Hayley Mann Cedars Park Community Primary School
Where to start??? Back to basics! Think BIG!
Big Questions to consider • What does your school say about you? • What do your best critics say? • Who do I ask for help? • When can I start? • What will the outcomes be?
Learners and Learning • Learner perception questionnaire • Light touch monitoring • Visits and visitors • Effective feedback • Promotion of SMSC • Planning for exploration • Assessment • Links to other subjects • Displays and learning environment • Talking to the children
Hinduism Workshop I loved it when we learnt about why cows and bulls are special to Hindus. I learnt about all the different gods. We got to do some dancing to traditional music.
Lords Prayer Project ‘We were able to ask big questions such as ‘is he (God) looking after us?’ ‘We learnt about what people do when they pray and the special places that they go to’. ‘We discussed our thoughts on whether God made the world or if it was atoms joining together’. ‘We learnt the Lords Prayer in sign language’.
Ngara Crosses Daisy Cross The small pebbles represent that Jesus died for lots of people, not just one or two, not just me and you. The daisies represent that Jesus was beautiful even in the small things, even in his soul. The dandelions (weeds) represent that even though people see us as weeds, we can still help in the way of God and become his seeds to sprout in the spring and carry on growing and to bring the word of God with us.
