District - Technology Audit Executive Summary • TIES’ has completed a technical audit for Albert Lea Area Schools and has written executive summary outlining recommendations according to vendor industry standards and best practices. TIES’ is making the following recommendations: The two child domains need to be migrated to a single domainin order to ease administration and management, all software routers need to be replaced with layer three switchesin order to achieve greater performance and reliability,a reconstruction of the existing Active Directorylogical structure needs to be performed to reflect the Microsoft Baseline Security Framework baseline policy and Group Policy Object iteration, a tiered Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) should be implemented to provide certificates for security, patching of systems and devices needs to occur on a stable repetitive schedule, future wireless implementations will require authentication encryption with PKI support, network and physical monitoring systems should be implemented for security and network stabilization, and written policies and procedures need to be created or updated in accordance with industry standards. • Received Statement of Work on the immediate needs and future needs • Finance Committee will be meeting to discuss proposal
