Curriculum Structure • Didactic Online • Clinical in Home Community • 30 student cohort – 5 students per partner • Admission Requirements Established by Consortium • Curriculum Approved by Accrediting Body • Structure Approved by HLC
Administrative Structure • Fiscal Entity – Kellogg Community College • One Program Coordinator – Hired by consortium, housed at Kellogg • Faculty recruited, teach and compensated by home institution
Business Model • All courses loaded on individual partner taxonomy • Credentials from home institution • Registration Occurs through VLC • VLC Tuition rate and process used • 10% to VLC • 20% to Home Institution • 70% to Consortium • All expensed incurred by partners billed to consortium • Excess / Deficit divided equally amongst partners
Outcomes • Fully enrolled • 100% completion rate • 100% placement rate • Consortium was REVENUE source in 2013-14 • Nobody was hurt, some people are still friends
Challenges and Opportunities • Fiscal Model Cumbersome and Burdensome • Partners neutrality and roles questioned • MCCA could play more prominent role • MCO will facilitate / enhance processes • Current Program could be expanded • Model can be adopted by future programs, adding greater efficiency to process.
