We now guarantee that customers will save four to eight per cent in fuel in the first year after application. And the Hempasil X3 package even includes an advanced software tool, SeaTrend, so customers can measure performance, efficiency and cost benefits. Customer feedback has been extremely positive. After Hempasil X3 was applied to a Polish roll-on/roll-off vessel, the owners measured fuel savings of six per cent. Other successful applications include a cruise liner for Holland American which reported an 8.6 per cent fuel saving.
A cut in fuel consumption also means a reduction in CO2 emissions and if all the worlds vessels lowered fuel consumption by eight per cent, the industrys total carbon emission would fall by 90 million tonnes a year (the same amount of CO2 emitted by Greece).

So the RFA is now working with two shipyard groups to bring down costs and improve service delivery and Hempel is an essential part of the supply team.
The shipyards, together with partners selected by the RFA such as Hempel, are responsible for the exclusive delivery of certain long-term maintenance and ancillary services to clusters of RFA vessels. - Hempel has ownership of the material fabric of the ship so we can ensure the vessels receive the highest possible corrosion protection and finish (quality)For the UKs Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service (RFA), keeping a fleet of 16 support vessels operationally available is very expensive. So the RFA is now working with two shipyard groups to bring down costs and improve service delivery and Hempel is an essential part of the supply team.
The shipyards, together with partners selected by the RFA such as Hempel, are responsible for the exclusive delivery of certain long-term maintenance and ancillary services to clusters of RFA vessels. The EUs new chemical legislation, the Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals (REACH), came into force on 1 June 2007. It will be implemented in phases until 2018.
Our goal is to ensure an uninterrupted supply of products to our customers while fully meeting the new requirements.
In 2008, we pre-registered the substances that we import from outside the EU (all chemicals above one tonne each year). In 2009 we will work to identify substances and raw materials which could potentially fall under the REACH authorisation scheme, and work to find alternatives. We will also continue to work with customers, suppliers, industry organisations and authorities about how REACH will affect our processes and strategies.

The Globally Harmonised System for the classification and labelling of dangerous chemicals will affect the way hazard information is communicated for our products. We see it as our job to help our customers benefit from the new system.Reach
