Roadmap on Resource Efficiency Adopted in September 2011 2020 aspirational objectives • Full implementation of the EU waste acquis • Waste generation per capita in decline • Recycling and reuse are economically attractive and at 'max feasible level' • Energy recovery limited to non-recyclable materials • Landfilling virtually eliminated
7th EAP • Adopted by the Commission by December 2012 • Based on the RE Roadmap principles and targets • Additional focus on hazardous waste • Effective use of market based instruments • Measures to improve eco design Currently discussed in the Council and Parliament, final adoption in 2013
