2. PURPOSE OF THIS PRESENTATION • To dispel some of the myths surrounding MLM • To differentiate between legal MLM & Scams • To help people to a better understanding • To highlight some advantages of MLM

3. THE INDUSTRY IS GENERALLY KNOWN AS NETWORK MARKETING OR MLM MULTI-LEVEL MARKETING Approximately 210,000 New Zealanders involved Some 700,000 Australians involved Is one of the fastest growing Industries in the World

4. “PYRAMID SCHEME”OR SCAM ..?? • There is a huge difference between what is LEGAL and what is a SCAM • So called “Pyramid Schemes” are illegal in most Countries • Money exchanges hands BUT generally no products or services are involved

5. THINGS YOU NEED TO ASK YOURSELF • Is the organisation a bona fide Company? • Who is determining what the Joining Fee is? • Who gets paid the Joining Fee? • What do I get for my money? • How do I make my money? • If any of these questions are suspect, chances are it is a scam and illegal

6. MAIN CRITERIA FOR A LEGITIMATE MLM BUSINESS • Generally is a Registered Company • Joining Fee is payable ONLY to the Company • Joining Fee is to cover the company’s costs • Reps earn NO income for recruiting • Goods or Services MUST be exchanged before income can be earned

7. “BUT IT’S ONE OF THOSE PYRAMIDS” • Never ridicule the person who says this to you • They generally don’t understand and are not going to admit it, so say the first thing that comes to their mind – “It’s one of those pyramids” • Simply ask them, “What do you understand a pyramid is?” • Also add, “Did you know that “pyramids” are illegal in New Zealand?” • Never enter into dispute – you LOSE..!

WHAT IS A PYRAMID..?? • Well, it’s probably the shape of your family tree • It’s the shape of most companies • It’s the strongest structure known to architects • It is NOT the shape that most people have a problem with. • It’s the PERCEPTION that the “People at the top make all the money, while those at the bottom don’t

13. AND IT's NOT ABOUT YOU • Unfortunately many use modern day “selling” by persuasion tactics • Who likes being “SOLD” to..?? Or “Selling”..?? • The old English dictionary definition of “Selling” is to SERVE – HELP • What is the “PURPOSE” of your business..? • To make money..? – That is YOUR AGENDA • If we focus on the “PURPOSE” – we will achieve our AGENDA • This will eliminate FEAR - REJECTION

PEOPLE ARE NOT INTERESTED IN YOUR AGENDA • Unfortunately, far too many MLMers are too focused on their AGENDA – too make money • Your “Prospect” is ONLY interested in “What’s in this for me” – themselves, and that is human nature • If the PURPOSE of your business is to HELP people and you focus on that – guess what happens? • You achieve your AGENDA

15. ADVANTAGES OF NWM - MLM • Work from home • Own your own Business • Be your own “Boss” • Low Start-up costs • Low Overheads • Low Risk • No employees • Huge Tax write-offs

17. COMPARED TO: • 40/50 years hard labour • Too busy making a living to HAVE A LIFE • DREAMS are just “Day-Dreaming” By age 65 • 95% of people are BROKE • 2% live on the Breadline • 2% are comfortable • Only 1% are WEALTHY……..WHY? • The MECHANICS OF WEALTH ARE NOT THERE
