1. NEP Background • A membership organization consist of 88 national and international organization working in education field through out the country. • Coordinate dialogues between MoEYS, Donors and Education NGOs
NEP’s Vision and Mission • Vision: “Working together to achieve equal and timely access to high quality education for all Cambodian people” • Mission: NGO Education Partnership is a membership organization that coordinates dialogue and cooperation among key stakeholders to improve the quality and accessibility of education in Cambodia.
NEP’s Goals • Strengthen links between government, development partners and the education NGO sector • Increase members’ capacity to contribute to education reform • Strengthen NEP’s advocacy capacity • Strengthen NEP’s organisational development

Education system (Cont.) • Target groups • Poor people, those who live in difficult circumstances • Working children and youths and the out-of school • Ethnic minority children and youth • Adults aged 15 to 45 Special emphasis is on girls and women

Work of NGOs on NFE • 43 education NGOs (or nearly 50%) working on NFE • 16 of those implement literacy classes • Aim of their project: • To build the capacity of the poor and vulnerable groups to improve their living condition.

Challenges • Low national budget – PB budget has just been available for the last two years • Lack of tangible information on local and community needs • Difficulties to find resource person at local levels • Difficulties to find place to establish community learning centers
