Ecosystem Vocabulary Add to your notes: Limiting Factor - an environmental factor that controls the growth or distribution of a population. Density-dependent factors - limiting factors that affect denser populations more than less crowded ones. Density-independent factors - limiting factors that affect populations regardless of density.
Limiting Factors Card Sort Work with your partner to sort the cards into density-dependent and density- independent factors. Be sure you can support your decisions. After class discussion, record the factors in a T-chart in your notebook:
