  5. OPBA will: - Reduce the spread/abundance of eastern red-cedar

  6. Sericea lespedeza • GSRxF – better than DSRxF • GSRxF/Grazing – Reduced from ~10% to ~3% & increased from ~10% to ~30% • GSRxF & spray – some work but inconclusive

  7. Yellow Bluestem • DSRxF – no effect • GSRxF – temp. set back • GSRxF & low soil moisture – set back 1 – 2 yrs. (TX) • GS wildfire in drought?

  8. Bromes • Cheatgrass – Bromus tectorum • Field Brome – bromus arvensis • Both respond to disturbances Bromus tectorum

  9. OPBA will:- Reduce fuel accumulation to help mitigate the frequency/intensity of wildfire

  11. Develop Local Prescribed Burn Associations (LPBAs)

  12. - Fire is a natural process; as natural as sunshine and rain- Statewide effort with focus in Lesser Prairie-Chicken range Educate, Train and Equip
