Introduction • We are requested to think about a cheaper experimental hall. • On the other hand, we do not want to down-grade the detector design without any serious studies. • A smaller diameter vertical tunnel was considered. Original: 17m diameter New: 15m diameter (at the bottom) 13.5m diameter (except for bottom)

  3. Introduction K.Kaneyuki, Aug.20, 2003 OA2.5o • Detailed beam MC study suggested the previous detector position is not the best detector position. • Should be about 2m deeper (and 50cm to the north). SK 2.5o 2.452o F/N SK/2.5o SK/2.452o Neutrino energy (GeV)
