What is it?

  3. Established in 1961 to run the Marshall Plan for reconstruction of the war. • Reformed the OEEC which was formed in 1947 • Used now for similar reasons of aid to poorer nations. • Countries aided include China, India, and Brazil that have emerged as larger players in economic view History

  4. Who is involved? • Originally 20 countries signed the treaty. • Many more joined later on • OECD aids countries without membership as well.

  6. Aided by many powerful prosperous nations • OECD takes international action on bribery and corruption. • Plans to achieve Highest employment and economic growth Advantages

  7. Has been criticized for only including the most developed countries. • In 1997 the Multilateral Agreement on Investing was criticized for threatening human rights. • Is a Tax policy where members must pay. Disadvantages

  8. Many nations have flourished due to the impact of OECD • Countries like India, Indonesia, and South Africa have all gotten to a more major role in the world view. International Impact
