History of Euregio Pskov - Livonia 28.03 1996 in Karlskrona (Sweden) was signed Memoranda of Cooperation 20.04 1996 in Pskov (Russia) was signed Cooperation Declaration 07.06 1996 was signed Statute of Council for Cooperation of Border Regions 20.02 1998 was approved staff for Executive Directorate 25.112003CCBR was reorganised as Euregio Pskov - Livonia 2007, Jelgava

The purpose of Euroregio creation • the organization of frontier regions' interaction in the development and realization of joint programs and projects of the economic for the achievement of an economic and social progress of frontier territories and for the ecological questions solution; • representation of mutual interests of the Euroregio participants in the governmental bodies of the Latvian Republic, the Russian Federation and the Estonian Republic, as well as in the international and other organizations; • an effective utilization of opportunities of the Euroregio participants' frontier position for their territories' development. 2007, Jelgava

The directions of Euroregio activity • to achieve the prescribed purposes the Euroregio is acting in the following directions: • the definition and coordination of the interaction spheres in the realization of a cross-border co-operation (the development of foreground directions of the co-operation, strategy and plans of action); • the development and realization of joint actions and programs of frontier regions' co-operation according to the prescribed priorities; • the preparation of the documents to obtain the joint programs and projects' financing in the European Union, INTERREG and Tacis programs, as well as also in other international financial organizations and funds; • the coordination of joint actions at the decision-making process concerning the common interests of frontier regions; • the organization of Euroregio meetings for summarizing of the work experience of its participants and for the development of joint resolutions. 2007, Jelgava

  10. Activities in year 2007 - 1 • In the framework of Phare project was organized 12 meetings – 4 with chairman's of municipalities, 4 with NGO and 4 with entrepreneurs. In total there take a part 295 participants. 2007, Jelgava

  11. Activities in year 2007 - 2 • Consequently there were affiliate 2 new participants in the association. They are: Sķilbēni rural municipality and Ape town. • Non-governmental organizations also pronounce a desire to be a participants in the association; • In the framework of Phare project there were organized international conference (Estonia and Latvia); • There were created information system and actualized home page; • There were created and spread 4 informative bulletins and booklet. 2007, Jelgava

  12. International conference 1 • In 20 and 21 of November was organized international seminar/conference in Valmiera town. There take a part representatives from Euroregion Latvia and Estonia parts municipalities and institutions.The aim of the seminar/conference is to fulfill activities for development of further crossborder cooperation.In the framework of this activity were made strategically targets, were defined act mechanism action plans of work groups. Tajā piedalījās pašvaldību un iestāžu pārstāvji no Eiroreģiona Latvijas un Igaunijas puses. There were discussed about cooperation project ideas for future and about involving potentional partners. 2007, Jelgava

  15. Actualization of home page • There are actualizing and fulfilling new Euregio “Pskov-Livonia” home page www.pskov-livonia.com at this moment. It is planned in 4 languages – Latvian, English, Estonian and Russian. 2007, Jelgava

  16. Exchange of experience (Tacis) • The aim of this project was to acquaintance and analyze the systems and reforming process at municipalities of Latvia, Estonia and Russia. 2007, Jelgava

  17. Exchange of experience (Leonardo da Vinci) • Meeting with head management and specialists of Euroregio “Bavarian wood”. • Meeting with vice-minister of economics (Denmark). 2007, Jelgava
