IUG 17 Report from Chair2009 • The IUG is just fascinating!! Thank you to my fellow members for having given me the opportunity to attend • My first tip is pre-organise the presentations you would like to attend
Some highlights from my attendance • Keynote Speaker from Pixar Animation • Gerry Kline’s report – Encore Reporter, AirPac • Crystal Awards given to attendees who have attended for 15, 16 and 17 years • Poster Session useful if particular interest • Liked the Birds of a feather idea
Some highlights from my attendance • Lightning Session – good sharing of tips and tricks • Innovative staff were offering short presentations • Very interesting topics for all, please visit the IUG site at: http://innovativeusers.org/about-innovative-users-group • CS Direct for coordinators was an interesting one, covered how to manage calls, search for known issues, resources for release planning

Any further progress on NCIP? When can the Australian customers expect to receive an III quote for NCIP for Libraries with VDX? • Response: After our discussions at the Australasian Innovative Users Group meeting in December 2008, we verified with John Bodfish from OCLC if the specifications outlined were complete. John did verify that our specifications were quite complete and detailed but offered two suggestions. Our development staff just finished reviewing these suggestions and approved them being included. A new quote will be issued for the sites in Australia shortly.
Are there any plans for ISO compliance with the Interlibrary Loan Module? • Yes, it’s on the 2009B list and QUEEN is expecting to beta test.
Is Innovative working on formal support for virtualization? • Not sure what this question is referring to. Virtualization is what Solaris Containers are for which we responded to in question #1.
When can we list or export the check-in card box data from the create list. Currently, we are able to do create list using the checkin card data but unable to list those data such as box status, cover date, transaction date etc. • This will remain the same in Release 2009.
