  1. Working At The Carwash… Community Service Spring 2005 VSU FYE Class

  2. What We Worked For: We raised money for the American Heart Association and a wounded soldier from Iraq~I attended the carwash held for John Thompson. The way I looked at it: washing cars for a day was nothing compared to what he did for our country over in Iraq.

  3. Our Dedicated Group: In between cars we got a picture of all of us there at the carwash. Not everyone was from the same class, but we all got along great and enjoyed working with each other!

  4. Our Day… We took turns: • standing on the side of the road promoting our carwash with signs • washing the hood, windows, wheels, and the back of the cars • rinsing and filling the buckets up with water • and drying the cars Me ~ doing an awesome job!!! (If I dare say so myself!) My BFF Josh ~ he was the best car rinser EVER!

  5. My Experience… It may not sound like much fun, community service, but actually doing something to benefit someone else really feels good, especially when you are among all of your friends. I, unexpectedly, enjoyed being there and felt very productive knowing that all our donations were going to someone who was injured and needed help. I also made new friends and talked to some of our “customers”, who were very friendly and eager to donate their money for our injured soldier. Because of my positive experience doing community service I would be more than willing to do it again and more often in the future.

  6. At the End of the Day… *It was a very fulfilling experience and we raised over $300 to help him and his family* Nick, Josh, and me getting ready to head back to the dorms and clean up!
