AWMA Georgia ChapterRegulatory Conference Compliance Update April 2013
GA EPD District Offices Districts and Locations: District CAA Responsibilities: Some synthetic minor (SM) sources Permit-by-rule sources, most true minor or “B” sources Some Title V sources for Cartersville and Coastal Complaint investigations Open burning • Mountain (Cartersville and Atlanta) • Northeast (Athens and Augusta) • West Central (Macon) • Southwest (Albany) • Coastal (Brunswick)
What’s “new” in SSCP? • Collection of permit fees • Compliance assurance with fewer onsite inspections • Streamlining inspection reports • Minimum data requirements submitted to EPA http://www.epa-echo.gov/echo/ • 2010 EPA Audit State Review Framework http://www.epa.gov/compliance/state/srf/index.html
Tips and Reminders… • Title V renewal applications • Monitoring and recordkeeping… • Most inspections are unannounced… so, do you have a plan if the environmental contact is not at the plant when the inspector arrives? • Synthetic minor and Title V permit fees are due even if the Facility did not operate that year • Questions about permit requirements? Ask • EPD investigates all complaints
