  4. SEPTEMBER • SAT I and SAT II or ACT Registration • Colleges begin visits to Prep • Senior Questionnaire • Parent Reference Form • Transcript Request Form

  5. OCTOBER • Take the SAT (10/8/05) • Register for SAT II’s: very important toread and follow the directions of the schools SAT/SAT II and/or ACT Scores must be sent to the schools by the student via the testing service WWW.COLLEGEBOARD.COM or ACT.COM

  6. NOVEMBER • Early Action Deadlines • Early Decision Deadlines • Take SAT I and/or II (11/5/05) • Narrow Application Choices • APPLY !

  7. DECEMBER • APPLY • Please Apply • NO, Really, Please Apply • Prep Parents Financial Aid Workshop: 12/6/05

  8. JANUARY • EA and ED decisions due back • FAFSA (Available after Jan. 1st) • CSS Profile (Available now at www.collegeboard.com)

  9. FEBRUARY • Decisions begin to come out: • Accept • Deny • Wait List

  10. MARCH • Select your School • Confirm with a deposit • PLEASE DO NOT DOUBLE DEPOSIT

  11. APRIL Choose: Your School Confirm : Your spot in the class and the dorm Contact : Other schools to let them know of your decision Cancel : Any other confirmation for your deposit to be refunded. MAY 1ST is the Universal Deadline for College Confirmations

Summary For Students • Be Aware of Deadlines • Keep your College Advisor INFORMED of Online Applications, Admission Decisions and Scholarship Offers • Give teachers 3 weeks notice for writing a recommendation • Inform teachers of admission decisions as they become available. THANK THEM. • Talk to your parents about the process *Do your homework and turn things in on time.

  15. Non- Resources • Companies that offer to find you FA for a fee. • Previous admissions numbers • Previous scholarship numbers • Amateur Admissions Representatives i.e. Other People • “I Heard…. “ OR “ I know for a fact…..” • ALWAYS CALL THE SCHOOL DIRECTLY TO CONFIRM INFORMATION

  16. Final Thoughts • Call us with questions BUT call the colleges and universities for confirmation • The Colleges will lose paper; Try not to panic • Your have done your job! Your daughter/son is going to college. • Good Luck and Congratulations!
