LIEE Activity Through May 2009 • Visalia WNA • 10,000 customers • 6 Home Assessment Workshops • 80 New Assessors in 2009 • 6 new Enrollment and Assessment agencies • Referral Partnerships • Community Colleges • Regional Centers • Ability First • Implement Email blasts / Outbound calling
Whole Neighborhood Approach • Target: Visalia (93291) - 10,500 Customers. • Partnered with The City of Visalia, Mayor of Visalia, The Director of Housing & Economic Development, Housing Specialists, Local Public Affairs team, Visalia School District Board Chair. • Approx. 1,500 Postcards sent out on May 22, 2009 and will continue for 7 drops each week thereafter. • Coordinated with Proteus to canvass area by ZIP7s. • Upcoming Efforts: • City of Tulare • City of Porterville • City of Bellflower • City of Ridgecrest
CARE • CARE participation has increased by 60,641 households since December 31, 2008 • Developed two new pages on SCE.com Website, “High Bill Helper” and “Assistance” to provide customers with easy-to-find information • Partnered with TV station Univision and SoCalGas in manning a “phone bank” allowing viewers to call SCE/SCG to discuss ways families can benefit from our assistance programs • Participated in more than 100 community events to promote CARE and other economic assistance programs and services • Held “Help for Hard Times” summit attended by CBOs and SCE customer related organizations with short, mid and long term customer assistance projects recommended: • Pilot CARE Phone Enrollment through SCE’s General Call Center begins July 1st • Pilot Outbound VRU Phone Enrollment begins mid-July w/ 50k customers targeted • Consider development of “Economic Assistance Toolkit” for distribution to new and non-traditional channels • June 22 - Sep 30: Economic Assistance Campaign Continues with “TIPS” Campaign • 10 and 15 second televised spots to be aired in the general and multi-ethnic markets including African American, Korean, Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Vietnamese
We CARE Day – Long Beach • Estimated Attendance: 1300 • Elected officials speakers: Bob Foster, Mayor of Long Beach and Michael Peevey, President CPUC • SCE Leadership speakers: Lynda Ziegler (CSBU Senior VP), Erwin Furukawa (VP CP&S), Gene Rodrigues (Director of EE) • Over 500 CARE applications disseminated. Most current data available indicates that 21 SCE customers enrolled on CARE at the event and 51 were recertified • Event attendee testimonials gathered from SCE volunteers at the Fair indicated a sentiment of appreciation and gratefulness towards SCE and the CPUC for coordinating the event and the economic assistance provided • Broadcast, radio, print and online media coverage from a variety of main stream and ethnic media outlets • SCE also participated in the Bakersfield and Los Angeles We CARE Days.
