MY PATH TO BECOMING AN INDUSTRIAL POLYMER CHEMIST Earned a B.S. in Biology (Genetics) from NIU Went on to U of C to earn Ph.D. in Genetics Left Graduate School to work for De Soto, Inc Went Back to Graduate School (Roosevelt University) to earn M.S. in Chemistry (Polymer) part-time De Soto, Inc. went out of business Went to work for Nalco Chemical Company

Always loved science as a young child Curiosity Loved to design polymers for a purpose Enjoyed working with interdisciplinary groups Thrive on challenges and deadlines Excitement in developing polymers which led to patents Enjoyed presenting my research at national meetings
