Is MRI dangerous? • There is no evidence that the magnetic fields pose any health risks. • Risk of metallic objects either in body or in room. • Some concern if occupation involves metal work (welders, for instance). Esp. concern is metallic objects in eye. • Procedure is not recommended during pregnancy (but only because it hasn’t been studied sufficiently and NOT because of any known risk).
