Current Status of Coupling Coil • Cold Mass • By-pass of cooling pipe leak installed • Pressure test of all cooling pipes complete • Vacuum check of all cooling pipes complete • Shipping to Fermilab today • Cryostat • Drawings are complete • LBNL mechanical shop will fabricate the first cryostat • Purchase order for stainless steel placed

  5. By-pass Cooling Pipe Pressure Test • The by-pass cooling pipe was hydrostatically tested, in steps, to a pressure of 300 psi • No leaks detected • Vacuum tight

  6. Pressure Test of Other Cooling Pipes • Other two cooling pipes were hydrostatically tested, in steps, to a pressure of 223 psi • No leaks detected • Vacuum tight Upper cooling pipe being tested Lower cooling pipe being tested

  9. Coupling Coil Cryostat • Cryostat design is complete • Drawings complete • LBNL mechanical shop will fabricate the first cryostat • Purchase order for stainless steel placed • Estimated to take 6 months to complete fabrication • Drawings will be updated to reflect the “as built” cryostat
