2012 Work Plan Accomplishments • Conducted a survey on commonly used deck patching products used by state and contract forces. • Sponsored andsupporting research initiatives • Working on a process for identifying and promoting innovative bridge preservation products, materials, and techniques for use by bridge preservation practitioners • Worked with the ETG, TSP-2, T-9, in getting the definition of bridge preservation approved by the Standing Committee on Highways

2013 Work Plan • Focus Areas - Performance Measures • Work with other AASHTO Subcommittees and FHWA to promote: • The use of bridge element condition assessment • Transition a way from the use of structurally deficient measurement • Use of a condition-based bridge health index (remove the cost dependency from the current HI calculation) • Use of a Good, Fair, Poor measurements or similar grading system • Survey the State DOTs to identify current measures used in bridge maintenance, i.e. work backlog; flag systems, etc.
