Our Patient • Josh Brian • He is 30 years old • Works in Construction • Came to our doctors office with severe back pain neck and shoulder pain. • His family has a long strain of heart problems
Symptoms • Fatigue or lack of energy • Dizziness (feeling faint or light-headed) • Chest discomfort (pain, pressure, or tightness in the chest) • Shortness of breath (difficulty breathing during normal activities or even at rest) • High blood pressure • Coronary artery disease (blockages in the heart's arteries) • Heart valve disease • Previous heart surgery • Chronic lung disease • Heart failuree • Cardiomyopathy (disease of heart muscle that causes heart failure) • Congenital heart disease (heart disease present at birth) • Pulmonary embolism (blood clot in lungs)
What is Atrial Fibrillation • Atrial fibrillation or flutter is a common type of abnormal heartbeat. The heart rhythm is fast and irregular in this condition.
Things that could result from this arrhythmia • High blood pressure • Coronary artery disease (blockages in the heart's arteries) • Heart valve disease • Previous heart surgery • Chronic lung disease • Heart failure • Cardiomyopathy (disease of heart muscle that causes heart failure) • Congenital heart disease (heart disease present at birth) • Pulmonary embolism (blood clot in lungs)

What other Medications we prescribed • Blood thinner baby Asprin daily We wanted to make sure he didn’t develop any blood clots, this is one of the bad symptoms that this abnormal arrythmia can cause.
Cardiac Healthy diet • We wanted to put Brain on a healthy heart diet. This is eat mostly raw foods and balancing out the diet to get a lot of nurtreints
How many people are affected 2.2 million people are affected with atrial fibrillation, this affects everyone equally male and female. Occurs normally after heart surgery.
Prognosis Using medication can prevent symptoms from flaring up. Proxada
Medical Intervention We prescribed Brian Pradaxa This is used to control the heartbeats and symptoms like his severe back pain
Nurse Practitioner a nurse who is qualified to treat certain medical conditions without the direct supervision of a doctor.
Physician Assistant Physician Assistant (PA) is a highly skilled health care professional who practices medicine in a team based setting with Physicians
Cardiothoracic Surgeon A surgeon that operates only on the heart. They can help fix the problem of a irregular heart beat by putting a device inside the body.
Update • Brian is on a full diet and he is still taking his Atrial Fibrillation and his symptoms don’t pop up. He is still coming in for monthly check up’s and is being monitored closely
