The Role of HELP • Point of Contact with Spanish-speaking community • “Face” of Emergency Management • Social/Cultural implications of “government officials” • Interpretation/Translation for non-emergency situations
HELP in the EOC • Field calls from Spanish-speaking citizens • Translate/Review media releases • POC for Spanish-speaking media outlets • Radio, television, etc. • Serve in advisory role to EOC Director/IC in regards to Latino community issues/concerns • Information dissemination, etc.
