GeoRecovery.gov • Supporting the development of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, Recovery.gov site • Transparency and accountability • Georecovery.gov Team • FGDC member agencies • Providing geo-enabling guidance to recovery.gov developers
GeoRecovery.gov Activities • 2 use cases were submitted to the development team 4/30/09 • Developing a guidance document based on high-level process flow steps • Parallels architecture document approach • Focuses on the capture, coding, flow, validation, reporting, rendering of geospatial information • Does not attempt to address broader recovery.gov reporting issues, such as financial roll-ups

GeoRecovery.gov Next Steps • Continue discussion with the developers and continue to refine the use cases • Formalizing the document’s content areas • Folding in information/issues collected to date • Developing the rest of the content
FGDC 2009 Annual Report • Follow 2008 Report Outline • Accomplishments, Goals, Challenges • Identify Theme • Example: Geo-enabling Economic Recovery • Suggestions due by June 1, 2009 • Date of Completion – Nov. 1, 2009 • Data call will go out June 1 • Submit input to Milo Robinson mrobinson@fgdc.gov
2010 NSDI Cooperative Agreements Program • Overall budget same as FY2009 • $1.3 million • Announcement schedule same as FY2009 • Final announcement text due no later than August 14 • Will open for proposal submittals early October • Economy stimulus package grants could impact schedule
2010 NSDI CAP Action for Coordination Group Members By May 22, 2009 provide a synopsis of funding category and suggested deliverables, budget, and number of awards to Gita Urban-Mathieux (burbanma@fgdc.gov)
The NSDI CAP is intended to: • support NSDI outreach & communications • market NSDI concepts • seed small efforts • reach new organizations & disciplines • initiate tool implementations • create points of contact • build goodwill for NSDI concept • serve as the impetus for institutionalizing NSDI • provide a model for international Spatial Data Infrastructure development

Standards Update • The ISO TC 211 Secretariat has received the list of U.S. delegates to its 28th plenary and meetings, scheduled for May 25-29, 2009. • The U.S. Delegation includes personnel from the FGDC and FGDC member agencies • National Geospatial Intelligence Agency • U.S. Census Bureau • U.S. Geological Survey • The U.S. Delegation also include Non-Federal personnel: • Bentley Systems, Inc. • Northrop Grumman Information Technology/TASC • Lockheed Martin • ESRI • George Mason University • Oracle

Server Upgrades • The Secretariat is upgrading the infrastructure that is hosting the FGDC website • Significant changes to both the hardware and software infrastructure • Benefit - significant improvement in website load-capacity, response-times and redundancy • Timeline • Currently testing the new infrastructure on staging server and undergoing Certification & Accreditation. • Will go live as soon as C & A is completed.
