Prefix Pass PREFIXES!! • Prefixes can be easy to spot. Here are some cool ways that you’ll be sure to hit a hole-in-one with prefixes: • Prefixes are ALWAYS beforethe root word • They usually have 2 or 3 letters • They completely change the meaning of words • You can cover up what you think the prefix is and still have another word

Suffix Sand-Trap • If you guessed that something was hooked on to the tend of all of the root words, then you were right! We call these special syllables suffixes. • Like we saw just a second ago, suffixes come after words. This means that in order to see these cool endings, we have to look at the root word’s end!
