Performance Delivery – overall summary (1/4) The achievement is based on the current months performance (although this may relate to a previous month due to the availability of data) Where a table indicates progress, the progress relates to the most recent published data where available or monthly or weekly leading measures for each indicator. Headline Measures Supporting Measures Additional Public Health Measures 3 3 3 • Public health measures- change in indicator- breast screening uptake for 50-70 yrs is now being measured instead of coverage. 2010-11 and 2011-12 performance has been amended to reflect this. CVD Mortality and Cancer Mortality- no longer using a 3 year rolling average as actual but instead using the annual rate. • Note: Cluster have re-issued RAG thresholds which may impact on how some of the targets are reflected in Cluster documentation. The new thresholds will be used in the Board reports for 12/13 reporting.

2011/12 Performance Delivery - Summary (6)GP Consortia A summary of performance by Peer group is noted below however please refer to appendix 2 for the more detailed performance dashboards by Peer groups Breast Screening: All Groups have met the 70% coverage target for women aged 53-70 yrs screened for breast cancer in the last 3 years (based on provisional Q1 2011-12 KC63 data). Cervical Screening in Q3 2011-12 Group 2 met the 80% cervical screening coverage target for 50 – 64 year olds Group 3 met the 67% cervical screening coverage target for 25 – 49 year olds Immunisations: Groups 2 and 6 achieved 5 out of 6 indicators. Groups 3, 4 and 5 achieved 2 out of the 6 indicators. Group 1 only achieved 1 out of the 6 indicators. Breastfeeding 6-8 weeks Q3 2011-12 Groups 2, 3 and 4 did not achieve the 95% coverage target. Groups 3 and 5 did not achieve the 68% prevalence target. However overall the PCT met its Breastfeeding target for Q3 11
2011/12 Performance Delivery - Summary (7)Social Marketing/Health Promotion • General • Regular pages in Harrow People – “Ask the Doctor” page and advert • Tobacco – helping people quit • Rebranding of pharmacies providing stop smoking services completed early February • Free NRT vouchers to end of March (adverts in local newspaper each week) • New Year campaign – quit and save – Generated over 200 new referrals in January • Lost to follow up work with Health trainers • National No Smoking Day week long promotional campaign in Harrow town centre • New workplace clinic at Comparex Ltd - 8 quit so far • Workplace Health event with local Chamber of Commerce 27 March • Health trainer refresher training 12 March • Level 3 training completed end February (for experienced advisors to enable them to do group work) • Level 2 training in March (for new advisors) • Tobacco – stopping young people starting • Education campaign in Harrow high schools • Link with ‘Cut Films’ to develop local two minute advertising aimed at young people • Cancer Screening Programmes – all • Joined the ‘Screening for Life’ programme for the 3 cancer screening programmes which will involve the rebranding of screening programme so that each PCT will benefit from the promotions that others do and provide saturation advertising and coordinated campaigns across NWL - advertising materials currently in design stage • Health trainer refresher training 12 March • Cancer screening - Bowel • Local newspaper articles on bowel cancer screening including case stories from patients • Development of Z-card leaflet for use in events and distribution by health trainers • Bowel cancer awareness events in April (national BC month) • Cancer Screening - Breast and Cervical • Transport media campaigns in May and June targeting low uptake areas and high footfall stations – poster campaign at bus stops, tube ticket barriers and station washrooms • Focus groups to be run by Mencap and Mind in Harrow in order to develop a screening policy for women with learning disability. This should reduce the number of exception reports in GP practices for this group. • Breast Feeding and Access to Maternity • Training sessions planned with practice staff and pharmacists- awareness of early booking • Health trainer training 12 March • Development of local information leaflet and investigation of possibility of distribution with pregnancy kit purchases • Awareness raising day in Harrow town centre – 3rd March • Promotion at women’s health and advice event at Beacon Centre – 8thMarch • Immunisations • Focus groups being held to inform the development of local promotional materials and campaign • Birthday cards printed for age 1 and age 4 – starting distribution • Specific information for Somali and Afghan groups (identified as low imms groups) in progress and consideration to roll this out to other new arrival groups • Training for new immunisers planned • Health trainer refresher training 12 March • Planning for problem solving groups with local professionals to address information gaps, communication and programme difficulties 12

Breastfeeding 6-8 weeks • In Q1, 95.36% of infants due for a 6-8 wk check had a feeding status recorded against them and 74.64% were being breastfed at 6-8 wks. • In Q2, 96.5% of infants due for a 6-8 wk check had a feeding status recorded against them and 72.32% were being breastfed at 6-8 wks • IN Q3, 95.7% of infants due for a 6-8 wk check had a feeding status recorded against them and 71.9% were being breastfed at 6-8 wks 21
