UKRR is… A collaborative, coordinated and sustainable approach to long-term retention, storage and access to low use print research journals. M25 Consortium AGM 2009
UKRR delivers… • Quick and easy access to research material • Coordinated retention of print journals • Collaborative storage of print journals • Release of space for other uses • Funding for deduplication in HE libraries M25 Consortium AGM 2009
Backstory.. • Pilot project: • January 2007 to August 2008 • Funded by HEFCE – c.£709k • 8 partner libraries • Achievements (some): • More than 8k titles held in the RR • Over 11k metres of shelf space released • BL holdings strengthened • Proof of concept RLUK AGM April 2009
