The League • Two divisions of eight teams this season in the London Football League, so fourteen league games, and we’re in the ‘Premier’ league. • Our home ground is once again (Fortress) Regent’s Park. • Two new teams: AC Matalan & Park View FC. Five teams we played last year: Birkbeck College, Red Bee Media, Elite Youth, Fanatics and Yalova FC. • Our 2008-9 record against these five teams: Played: 10, Won: 0, Drew: 1, Lost: 9, GF: 8, GA: 37, Points: 1 • Cup: decision whether to enter to be made
Finances Expected Costs Amount £150 £60 £24 £20 per home game £104 per home game £39 per game £1650 • League entry fee • FA affiliation fee • Player registrations • Pitch booking service • Pitch cost • Match fee • Total (approximate) cost of 14 league games
Finances (cont.) • With only eight teams in the league, we obviously have less games, so our costs have gone down despite the price per game going up. • We can choose to enter the cup when details are sent out by the league. This will probably guarantee us at least four more games, and of course, we will get to experience the magic of the cup. • The pitch cost/match fees for the cup are the same as the league matches, plus there’s an entry fee (£50 last year). • Based on four games in the cup (two at home, two away), the approximate cost would be £400-450 more. • Do not need to decide until we get the email from the League, which was sent out in October last year.
Finances (cont.) • The initial payment was set at £120, and we currently have 13 people signed up, meaning we have received just over £1500. • Presuming nobody else signs up, our only other income will be from match fees, which we have raised this season and intend to be ruthless in chasing up. • Match fees for people who haven’t signed up at the beginning of the season are £15 per game
Finances (cont.) • So, if we were to enter the cup, our total expected expenditure (league and cup) would be approximately £2,100-£2,200, which would increase if we made it past the group stages of the cup competition or if additional teams were added to the league. • Our expected income is £1,500 plus match fees. • So there will be a shortfall to be met by either another payment, or a fundraising programme.
