IRAC is an acronym for a simple formula to summarize a case: I – Issue (Facts, the problem or challenge) R – Rule (rule of law involved) A – Application (how the court applied the rule) C – Conclusion (how the case concluded) See course website for a more thorough description.   9. Your school’s PTA wants a clear explanation of API, AYP, STAR, and the CAHSEE as well as their role in the Program Improvement process which your school has just entered. Prepare the outline of a short talk which summarizes the basics of the two accountability systems and, to the extent you know it, their legal history.
