Rear Axle Torque • Causes: • Wheels locked in place • Tires stuck in a ditch • Tires frozen to ground 75o
Centrifugal Force • Increases proportionally with turning angle • Increases in proportion to the square of the speed
Typically about 10” above and 2’ in front of the rear axle • For a tractor to stay upright • its center of gravity must stay within the tractor’s stability baseline Center of Gravity

Smart Operation • Use the tractor for its designed use • Take advantage of ROPS and seatbelt • Watch height of loads being carried (Forklift, front-end loader, etc.) • Be aware of surroundings (steep slopes, banks, etc.) • Use drawbar correctly Solutions to Tractor Roll Over

Be aware when carrying loads with equipment • Carrying a load with a front-end loader or forklift above the tractor raises its center of gravity, making the tractor more prone to rollover. • Drive in reverse up steep hills to minimize chance of tipping. Smart Operation

Wheel weights and/or counterweights can be used to adjust the stability of a tractor for different applications Use Counterweights and/or wheel weights
