Second Meeting of the IAAHC • Vancouver, June 2007 • Objectives: • Presentation and review of the Technical Working Groups (TWG) • Identification of keys areas where collaboration can be developed to assist regional implementation of the OIE Standards • Discussion on the updates to the OIE Code and Manual
Second Meeting of the IAAHC • Follow ups (1) • Performance, Vision and Strategy (PVS) for aquatic animals – Pilot project; • Interest of PANVET in working in collaboration with the OIE RR for the Americas and the Committee on the development of a training program; • Nomination and role of the Secretariat of the Committee;
Second Meeting of the IAAHC • Follow ups (2) • Sustainability of the Technical Working Group leaders; • The Committee will verify the possibility of organizing a workshop on serotyping and genotyping of finfish viral diseases; • Review of the amphibian questionnaire sent by the OIE and analyze the necessity to have a TWG working on this topic;
Second Meeting of the IAAHC • Follow ups (3) • Need to have a regional list of subject matter experts on the different topics regarding aquatic animal health; • Promote the notification of emerging diseases in order to trigger an evaluation from the Commission; • Suggestion to have a presentation on: • Animal Welfare in aquatic animals • Process to become an OIE Reference Laboratory; • Importance for the Focal Point to report to their delegate the issues raised during the committee’s meetings.
