1. A Million Words or Less • Yes, you have an assignment too! All we would like for you to do is to tell us, in a million words or less, about your child. Tell us what you think we should know. We will only share this information with your child’s other eighth-grade teachers. Unless permission is granted, we will not share information from this exercise with anyone else outside of his/her teachers. • The purpose of this exercise is to help us teach your student more effectively. The better we know them, the more effectively we can meet their needs. You have had their entire lifetime to get to know them. We, on the other hand, have not. And since time is limited, we need to get to know them as soon as possible. • We understand that we all have more than enough to do, but please take a few moments to complete this assignment. You can either send it with your child to be turned to Mrs. Gruenberg, email it to her—janet.gruenberg@oldham.kyschools.us, or you can bring it by the office and ask someone to place it in Mrs. Gruenberg’s mailbox. • We know your time is limited, but there has to be a deadline. Please have these turned in by Friday, August 30th. Also, we realize you may have completed this last year. If so, please feel free to update it, and then send it in. We are looking forward to a great year.
