  4. Ex) Find the vertex, axis of symmetry and direction of opening.

  5. By drawing a picture and using the formulas, you can write the equation of parabolas. It is useful to remember that the distance from the vertex to the focus = the distance from the vertex to the directrix = 1/|4a|

  6. Ex) Write the vertex form equation of the parabola.

  7. Ex) Write the vertex form equation of the parabola. Opens left or right,

  8. Ex) Write the vertex form equation of the parabola.

  9. Ex) Write the vertex form equation of the parabola. Opens up or down and passes through
