Background Information • I graduated in 1995 with my Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. • My DoDEA certification is under Teacher, Speech-Language Pathology • My national certification is from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). • I have worked in the Fort Benning School District for 14 years and have been at Loyd for 3 years. • I hope this information is helpful.   6. Language Receptive: understanding what others are saying Expressive: getting your message across clearly and effectively

  7. Voice Looking at how your voice sounds; Does your voice sound hoarse?

  8. Fluency Does your voice sound easy and smooth?

  9. I am concerned about my child’s speech/language development. What do I do next?

  10. Preschool Screenings are provided for 3 and 4 year olds. Contact your home school for child screening dates, times, and locations. School Age Students Notify your child’s teacher so that the process can begin.

  11. Mychild has been referred. What comes next? A team will meet with you to discuss the remaining steps in the process. School staff provides recommendations based on data derived from a variety of sources.

  12. School Based SLP services and Private based SLP services In order for school-based services to be recommended, certain qualifications must be met. The student’s area of concern must also have a negative impact their educational performance.

  13. Speech-Language Services at Fort Benning, GA 3:1 Model

  14. 3 weeks I follow my regular speech-language therapy schedule 4th week I provide indirect / consultative services

  15. Examples of Indirect / Consultative Services • Co-Teaching in the Regular Education Classroom • Collaboration with school staff, SLPs, and/or parents • Classroom observations • Parent Conferences • And much more……
