Today’s Statistics • In 2011, 50.1 million Americans lived in food insecure households • 33.5 million adults • 16.7 million children • One in six people in the US are food insecure • 59% of food-insecure households reported that in the previous month they had participated in one or more of the three largest Federal food and nutrition assistance programs.
