Remember…point of view refers… • To the relationship of the narrator to the story. • This story uses third-person omniscient which means that narrator is not a character in the story, but someone who stands outside the story and comments on the action • A third person omniscient narrator knows everything about the characters and the events and may reveal details that the characters themselves could not reveal.
Count off 1-3…then answer… 1. What does the narrator know that the characters don’t know? Cite specific lines from the story as evidence 2. The narrator comments on the characters and events in this story. How would the story change if the narrator were not to comment? 3. What is the narrator’s opinion of the characters and their actions? Use details from the story to support your answer.
Interview your parents or neighbors or grandparents to find out about the greatest sacrifices they ever made for love. Write down the general story and be prepared to present them tomorrow. HOMEWORK Turn in your terms and question on your way out
