Explanation of Variances • ORA has submitted 25 procurement requests totaling over $1M which have not been processed due to backlog in contracts office. • Contract (DG133E -04-CN-0075) for $700,000 issued on 3/25/2005 does not show as an obligation in CAMS as of 4/6/2005 • Grants/Cooperative Agreements - ORA has submitted the following funding requests. All are pending award due to problems with Grantsonline. • University of Wisconsin/CIMSS – 3 Amendments - $614,000 • Colorado State University/CIRA – 2 Amendments- $345,000 The following were submitted as “partial” funding for multi-year awards. • San Jose State University - $1,033,909 • Columbia Univerity - $116,000 • University of Arizona - $147,552 • Princeton University - $45,000 • University of Washington - $30,000 • Boston University - $100,001 • Atmospheric and Environmental Research, Inc. - $131,629 • University of California, LA - $100,000 • San Diego State University - $124,545 • University of California, Santa Barbara - $103,362 • Funding for the Cooperative Agreement with Oregon State University (CIOSS) planned for commitment in March. Proposal was not received until the last week of March—anticipated commitment of funds is now June 2005. • Coral Reef Watch • Adjustments due to the hiring of Dr. Mark Eakin (cancelled transfer of funds to NCDC, delayed travel costs) • A Task Order Contract was expected to expire in February but we now find will last until April/May….$115K
