Dump in case of MKDV flashover • Flashovers in the magnets will cause different total peak current depending on where this happens • The resulting deflection is between half the nominal (one complete MKDV missing) or double the nominal (one complete MKDV more) one • With Q26 optics, above 47.5 kV the beam is on the graphite block, considering only half MKDV deflection • With Q20 instead, this is not the case anymore! (not even with 52 kV)
