  3. Diversity Task Force • Short Term Goals • Develop mission statement • Speakers for employee/student development • Develop community and college involvement initiative • Develop a tutor/mentor program with the local School District • Review Registered Nurse application process

Diversity Task Force Mission Statement: “Although we are many faces and voices that are destined to be heard, our mission unites us to achieve: intellectual growth, personal fulfillment, career success, active student and employee involvement in the learning process, and a community and curriculum enriched by multicultural perspectives, through a lifetime of learning”.

  7. Curriculum Subcommittee Accomplishments • For an institution the size of Northland, the sub-committee found that a large enough number of classes are offered in this area. However, a more concerted effort to offer those classes on a regular basis could be made. • Diversity Resources Library

Community and College Involvement Initiative Subcommittee Accomplishments • January 2002 – Recruiting & Retention Student Panel. • August 2002 – Tim Wise presentation at Duty Day activities for employees. • December 2002 – Traditions dinner on campus. • December 2002 – Meeting with local Law Enforcement. • January 2003 – Jermaine Davis presentation at Duty Day activities for employees. Included a student discussion panel.

  9. Community and College Involvement Initiative Subcommittee Accomplishments • March 2003 – Jermaine Davis return to campus (employees and students). • April 2003 – Noel Levitz Student Satisfaction Survey. • May 2003 – Northwest Minnesota Foundation Workshop.
