Deployment Standards Deployments will be rejected if any of the following standards are not met: • Deployment Engineers ONLY deploy solution files and site backups. • Manual deployment steps that require the engineer to log into each front end server are not allowed. E.g. File copies. • Uploading and running of custom .bat scripts and .exe for installations is not supported • Application-level settings MUST NOT be stored in web.config • No manual editing of web.config is supported • Where possible, use of the GAC must be minimized • Applications code must adhere to the SharePoint DMZ Development Guidelines • Applications using Session State must be configured to use SQL Server. No in-process session will be supported
