2. Biography • Anthony Robles was born in Arizona to Judy Robles on July 20, 1988. When he was born, he only had one leg. This setback however, did not seem to have an effect on him. At age 3 he refused to wear the prosthetic leg that he was given. He made an effort to make the rest of his body very strong to make up for his missing leg. In 6th grade he broke the record for pushups in his school. When he was in 8th grade, he decided to go out for the wrestling team. He quickly became an amazing wrestler and ended up with a high school career of 129-15 as well as winning the Arizona state championship. He went to Arizona state for college and proved to be a great wrestler there as well. In his final year (2010-11) he went 36-0 and became the national champion for the 125lb weight class.

3. Accomplishments Anthony finished his senior year of wrestling with a record of 36-0, becoming the first one legged to win the national championship. This is an incredible accomplishment because wrestling is a sport that requires quickness and versatility. Despite only having one leg however, Robles has one of the fastest shots seen in college wrestling. After winning the championship, Robles said that he was finished with wrestling and is not going to compete at the Olympic level. Instead he has decided to become a motivational speaker for kids born with “disabilities”.
