  5. Foundation • The settlement was founded in 1853 as Fortín Esperanza, later Pueblo Esperanza and on July 19, 1869 it was renamed after General Carlos María de Alvear (1789-1852) who fought for the liberation of Argentina during the War of Independence.

  11. Why we have chosen General Alvear? We have chosen General Alvear because after spending the rush hour in a noisy city, it´s relaxing for us to ride horses, to listen to birds singing, to watch them flying, and to enjoy the sunset. Those are worth things that human beings sometimes forget to contemplate.
