The SNCC • In Greensboro, North Carolina, on the first of February, a few African-American students refused to leave a Woolworth’s lunch counter when they were refused service. These actions sub-consciously changed the minds of others all across the southern United States. The Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee became on the campus of Shaw University, in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, or SNCC was invented to coordinate student boycotts all over the country.
