  5. 2007 CAPP Highlights for Performance Component 1 • Changes in Credit Enrollment • ACS enrollment decreased by 2.73% • Individual college credit enrollment changes ranged from -21.5% to +12.2% • Five colleges achieved increases greater than 5% with one achieving an increase of 12.2% • Fifteen colleges had decreases greater than 5% with twelve losing more than 10% and four losing more than 15% • Six colleges demonstrated stability in enrollment with changes of no more or less that 5%

  7. 2007 CAPP Highlights for Performance Component 1 • Educational Program Viability • About 75% of educational programs in the ACS met the standards for viability • Colleges ranged from 50% to 100% in meeting this standard • 100% of programs at 2 colleges met viability standard • 80% or more of programs met viability criteria at 13 colleges • 9 colleges had 70% or less of their programs that met viability standards • Greater attention is needed on enrollment and completion rates in non-viable programs

  8. Performance Component 2:Academic Transfer • Transfer student data derived from ACHE database • Two cohorts of students • 60+ sch earned at a specific cc • 24-59 sch earned at a specific cc • Minimum criterion of 10 students transferring to a state university for inclusion on CAPP

  10. 2007 CAPP Highlights for Performance Component 2 • Cohort Earning 60+ SCH’s at CC • 91.8% of cohort earned a GPA of 2.0 or better upon transfer and 49.3% had 3.0+ • 13 of 22 colleges had over 90% of cohort earning GPA of 2.0 or better upon transfer and 1 had 98.9% • 21 of 22 colleges had over 80% of cohort earning GPA of 2.0 or better upon transfer • 9 of 22 colleges had over 50% of students earning GPA of 3.0 or better upon transfer

  11. 2007 CAPP Highlights for Performance Component 2 • Cohort Earning 24-59 SCH’s at CC • 88.4% of cohort earned a GPA of 2.0 or better upon transfer and 42.1% had 3.0+ • 7 of 22 colleges had over 90% of cohort earning GPA of 2.0 or better upon transfer • 20 of 22 colleges had over 80% of cohort earning GPA of 2.0 or better upon transfer • 5 of 22 colleges had over 50% of students earning GPA of 3.0 or better upon transfer

Performance Component 3:Career/Technical Programs • Indicators based on program graduates and completers from all of a college’s career/technical programs (excluding health professions) and focus on: • Pass rate on licensure exams • Placement rate of grads/completers • Satisfaction of employers

  14. 2007 CAPP Highlights for Performance Component 3 • Licensure/Certification Exam Pass Rates • 92.8% of ACS students successfully completed examinations • Individual college pass rates ranged from 71.7% to 100% • 12 of 20 colleges achieved pass rates of 90% or higher with 6 colleges scoring 100% • 17 of 20 colleges achieved pass rates of 80% or higher

  16. 2007 CAPP Highlights for Performance Component 3 • More than 6,100 completed Career or Technical Programs and over 73% are employed or continuing their education • Employment/Continuing Education rates ranged from 34% to 89% among colleges • 9 of 25 colleges had placement rates of 80% or higher • 15 of 25 colleges had placement rates of 70% or higher

  20. 2007 CAPP Highlights for Performance Component 4 • Almost 3,500 students took first-time examinations and 2,984 passed for an overall pass rate of over 85% • Pass rates on professional exams for the ACS were • Associate degree in Nursing was 93.1% • LPN program was 87.8% • EMT/EMS was 77.8% • Other programs average was 80.6%

  22. 2007 CAPP Highlights for Performance Component 4 • Over 24,000 students admitted to Health Professions programs in past 4 years • Over 13,000 have graduated for a rate of 54.3% • Overall graduation/retention rate is 65.3% • Rates vary significantly among colleges and among different Health Professions Programs

  23. Performance Component 5:Developmental Studies • Pass rate of course completers • Includes all developmental English, mathematics & reading courses • Pass rate in college credit courses • Includes only students who met necessary developmental prerequisite within previous three terms

  25. 2007 CAPP Highlights for Performance Component 5 • Over 16,500 enrollments in Developmental Studies in Fall Semesters • Pass rates • Developmental English was 71.3% • Developmental Math was 60.3% • Developmental Reading was 64.2% • Wide variation in pass rates among colleges suggests inconsistent standards in courses

Highlights for Performance Component 5 • Overall Pass Rate of Former Developmental Students in English 101 was 59.0% • Ranged from 36% to 94% • Only 4 of 22 colleges attained pass rates of 70% or higher • Overall Pass Rate of Former Developmental Students in Math 100/116 was 49.7% • For English, about 1 of 5 entering developmental students successfully completes college credit course: • For Math, the number is about 1 in 7.2
