December 11, 2009 / Hotel Cambodiana History of 2008 & 2007 “Stay Another Day” Booklets • Approximately 65% repeat rate from 2007 to 2008. • Previously heavily donor-funded by both the IFC and GTZ. • Initiatives paid only a fraction (about 1/5) of the actual costs to manage, design, print and distribute the booklet. December 11, 2009 / Hotel Cambodiana 51 Initiatives in 2009-2010 vs.37 Initiatives in 2008 • 27% increase in initiatives - even though price increased by over 50% and space decreased by half. • 23 out of 37 initiatives repeated from 2008 (2 wished to but missed the deadline) = 68% repeat rate! • In 2008, 65% repeated from 2007 • 28 new initiatives – over half are new. Conclusion: “Stay Another Day” is a proven success and a truly sustainable tourism initiative in Cambodia! “Stay Another Day Cambodia” Booklet 2009 - 2010 5
