What Do They Need? • Financial Aid: • ~4,000 students receive BOG waivers (2010-2011) • Annual financial aid awarded: $8,816,000
What Do They Need? (cont’d): • Developmental Education: 6% of enrollments are in Basic Skills courses • 1,400+ students receive tutoring annually • Support services: • 4% of students have a disability
What Are They Studying? • Most popular degrees, 2010-2011: • Interdisciplinary Studies (Liberal Arts) • Humanities (English, Communication) • Public & Protective Services (Administration of Justice) • Most popular certificates, 2010-2011: • Business & Management • Health Care Technologies • Court Reporting
How Are They Doing? • Success: % of students completing the course with a grade of A, B, C, or CR • Retention: % of students completing the course with a grade other than W
Moving On – Life After WVC • In 2010-2011: • 540 earned Associate degrees • 184 earned Certificates • In 2009-2010: • 124 transferred to a UC • 328 transferred to a CSU • 46% of those with behavioral intent to transfer (a.k.a. transfer velocity) did so within 6 years
